Lyrics on a bright african plain where the elephants do play a lonely elephant named homer lived. and on a dark savanna night an angel came by light to tell him of our dear redeemers birth. and so he packed up his lil trunk and he went out for a walk to give the Savior his first present on his birthday. homer..the Christmas elephant made his way to Bethlehem. homer..the Christmas elephant; to give his gift to the great I am. now homer really didn't fit in with his family or friends so no one cared when he finally disappeared. they just trumpeted a sigh and figured it was about time that homer got along out there somewhere. but homers mother loved him so and went to ask him where he'd go. he said " im goin to the Savior on his birthday" chorus as he walked to see the king he saw many wondrous things lighted ships and angels in the heavens and he heard them sing of love to come down from above bringing all of us a brand new message. and they lit his way by night and during the day were just as bright. to guide him to the Savior on his birthday. chorus then further up the way he met Santa and his sleigh and went zooming off into the arctic circle he saw the workshop where the elves filled up all the children s shelves with toys and candy made of maple syruple santa wanted him to stay. but homer had to go away.. to see the new born king upon his birthday. -------------------- solo thing C - Em - F - Bdim - C (bridge) C-Bdim-C-Bdim look at homer go waddling too and fro being led by light across day and night C/E G Dmin into lands far away watching children play Emin Amin F---G only resting for a while on the banks of the nile C G/B Amin G swimming hard across the red ocean C G/B Amin G he doesnt mind, he doesnt miss a motion F he just smiles G for a while Amin G7.... on the Sinai side of life. --------- homer walked the northern trail across mountain desert vale and was taken in by presdigitators.. then was traded to an inn that fed him well within with figgy palms that made him big as ever. he was big and strong and able and he took up the whole stable and the people came from far and wide to seeeee homer the Christmas elephant the greatest elephant in the land. homer the Christmas elephant the colossal star of Bethlehem then there came that special night when the angel returned by light and told him it was time to give his gift homer felt so very dumb because he had forgotten why he'd come no matter said the angel, this is it. you have to leave this rustic inn and travel back down to your kin now hurry, lets make room for the birthday. homer the Christmas elephant saved some room in Bethlehem.. homer the Christmas elephant was his gift to the great I am.

OH MAN! JON! THIS IS THE NIGHT DRUMNJON SAVED HOMER THE CHRISTMAS ELEPHANT! WoW!! You took a rather dry and generic tune and literally brought it to life! Incredible what some percussion can do for a song..and especially the way you navigated that thing! That couldnt've been easy.. youve got a special talent there Jon.. I dont know too many drummers that would even attempt such feats without a click track...spectacular! THANK YOU!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
