Story behind the song
Conceived c1992 This is Take 1 Mix 15 recorded c1993 Fostex R-8 and c2003 Alesis ADAT
Heavily industrialized workout here, with a riff loosely based on the "Powerhouse Theme" (from the old Warner Brother's cartoons) off of the "Nantoka" sound effects instrument on my Drum Machine, & two Bass Guitars playing more or less in Harmony.
Featuring a barrage of sound bites from the 1991 remake of "Cape Fear", manipulated with pitch modulations, delay, & a ton of other s**t!!
Originally recorded this on Reel to Reel, with some backwards tracked samples from "Cape Fear", & some TV channel surfing sound bites, (that were recorded on a Sunday Morning around 6:30am, so you know just what KIND of programs I came across a lot of!!)
Did some further work on it after transferring it to ADAT in '03 adding more s**t (Guitars, Keyboards, Sound FX, etc)
Also, when I originally did this in '93, I put on about 4 tracks of nonsense delay-manipulated Vocals (but these ended up getting pretty much buried in the subsequent overdubs & bounces I did!!)
Also buried in the original R+R tracks towards the end is some samples of the opening riff to U2's "Zoo Station"......
