Hip hop emphasizing lyricism. Appealing beats with a unique sound.
Riot Squad: We are an extremely talented and original multi-racial hip hop group consisting of two MCs and one producer. The MCs, KnockOut and Versatyle, have differing styles and excellent chemistry together. Emphasizing lyrics and delivery, the duo combine to drop some impressive vocals, whether it be an introspective message-filled track or a traditional braggadocio-packed battle song. Casey Wells, the group's producer, is musically adept at many instruments and creates a vivid and unique sound. One that balances the line of credibility and commercial appeal. Formed in 1997, The Riot Squad have turned down several label offers and are still hoping for the right deal to come along. Listen to the music and judge for yourself if they have what it takes.

Story behind the song
Where I'll Be is an extremely personal track for us, as it pretty much serves as a tribute to the people that we are closest to and who have always remained real and true friends. When people hear the verses they think we are addressing each other but we're not. In my verses I choose to point out various people and events, but weld them together as if I was talking to one person. I felt that would make the song less complex for the listener and give it a more universal appeal. In Versatyle's first verse he is peaking to his friend Rob who he grew up with, and in his second he is talking about me. The funny thing with this track is that Casey had made the melody on his keyboard playing around and saved it for the hell of it, never intending to do anyhting with it. I was flipping through his soundbank and heard it and went nuts. I told him to finish the beat, that it was going to be hot. He made the beat and we started writing to it. This track was on hold for a few months because we didn't know what to do about the hook. There was some discussion about me singing it, but when we recorded it it did not turn out the way I would have liked so that idea was canned. A few vocalists came in and auditioned for it but no one was moving us. In a chance meeting at the Mall of Ga. of all places, Casey and I ran into an old friend, Jason. After talking for a few minutes we found out that he could sing (crazy that we never knew that) and was working on his album. We exchanged numbers and invited him to come over and work on some music, and he accepeted. The next weekend Casey called me and told me to drop whatever I was doing and come to The Boiler Room. I left the basketball court and went straight there, no shower or anything, and found Casey there with Jason. I showed him the way I wanted the melody to sound and he just blazed his way through it. We called Verse (who was out of town) and he went crazy over it. It was such a pleasure working with Jason because the man is a true professional. He comes in with his own ideas and contributes more than just a voice. Anyone can do that. Talent like his is what draws the line between a singer/rapper/musician and an artist. I look forward to working with him again, and Casey has already hooked up with him to do some production on his project. - Knockout
