Riot Squad: We are an extremely talented and original multi-racial hip hop group consisting of two MCs and one producer. The MCs, KnockOut and Versatyle, have differing styles and excellent chemistry together. Emphasizing lyrics and delivery, the duo combine to drop some impressive vocals, whether it be an introspective message-filled track or a traditional braggadocio-packed battle song. Casey Wells, the group's producer, is musically adept at many instruments and creates a vivid and unique sound. One that balances the line of credibility and commercial appeal. Formed in 1997, The Riot Squad have turned down several label offers and are still hoping for the right deal to come along. Listen to the music and judge for yourself if they have what it takes.

Story behind the song
This track is a personal song to an extent. It's really hard for me to be completely accurate and honest when expressing myslef through music because there are so many things that I keep to myself. So with this song it was written using bits and pieces of various relationships and situations that I have been a part of. Regardless of whether or not we admit, everyone has had a relationship end in a pianful way, be it through cheating or other means. But only a select few are secure enough to put it into music. We always take a reality approach with our material and I loved the idea of doing a hip hop love song. I went a little long with my verse (40 bars!) because this was such a passionate and easy subject for me to write about. Rather than having Versatyle write his verse from a similar standpoint, I thought it would be more creative to have him play the role of the pursuer/ex-best friend. The song plays out in an interesting way and end up stressing friendship over love, which is a mantra we all try to follow. I think it's a song a lot of people can relate to, and hopefully will feel. The beautiful singer on the hook is Verse's girlfriend's aunt. She has an excellent vocal range and really captured the hook the way I meant for it to sound when I wrote it, and transferred it to the song. I love this track and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. - Knockout
