Story behind the song
Whats up with That is basically a question to the days of old protester types who were very publicly non supportive towards the government sending men and women into armed conflicts around the world. As a result it appeared as these protesters stood against our Vets at that time period, and history pretty much tells the story that way too. Here we are today, and many if not most of the folks who were of subject in that era, have had noticeably improved lives and standards of living as compared to those days of 30 to 40 years ago. We owe our armed forces a great deal of gratitude for achieving these various major improvements and safety standards throughout our daily lives. This song describes my feelings of this complicated, but not really complicated topic... In the end I ask an audience during a recorded Live version of this song released "Where do you stand, where are you, what side of the fence are you on. So Im asking you man! Least we know we can make it right now. Thats right
Thats right! "

WHATS UP WITH THAT? 2009
By: Shane B. OBrien [p]2009 JMProductions
We flew half the world, to get to your wars you see. At the command of the big man
We had our orders and a C.O. to see. Welcome to hell once again now
In Vietnam, the jungle, or some sh** city, thats where wed call hell our home now
You separate all the brothers, or keep em all together now
Watch how that makes us so God damned strong yeah
Is that all right now? Seemed like the right thing to do
Is that all right now? Doin it all for Ole glory, Seemed like the right thing to do Babe
It seemed like the night time, was the scariest time, thats when that world, became a livin hell
Got a little high, to see if we could make it through another night, Welcome to my battle in hell
I got my 1st commie, I think I got him last night, Luck that day. Got em with my m16
And then at recon at 1st call, in the mornin babe, Confirmed my 1st kill last night
Is that all right now? Seemed like the right thing to do yeah
Is that all right now, now? It seemed like the right thing to do, yeah
Im readin three months old letters now babe. From my old lady, back at home now yeah
Im readin three months old letters now, from my old lady right back at home yeah, yeah
Is she holdin on to that fort for my darlin, Is she keepin it right for me back home now, yeah
And Im just sittin here now, and Im doin my job, alright. For my country babe, yeah, yeah
Theyll be no ticker tape, parade today. Theyll be no Champagne down Main Street, now
I got on that tarmac, from that great big airplane, just a few brothers and me
I kissed the ground, that I knew that Id come to
And I think I seen a few things thats gone wrong yeah
I seen you men and women, fightin and arguin babe
theyd be talkin about the things that we had done yeah
But is that all right now? Seemed like the right thing to do yeah
But is that all right now, now? Doin it all for ole glory
Is that the right thing to do little momma
But whats up with that now? Seemed like a strange home coming baby
But whats up with that now? I know we left a lot of young men and women behind
Im tired of seeing them vets hungry and homeless and standin in front of that post office now
Whats up with that now, we can make it right, Man
But whats up with that now? We got pride & honor & glory babe
Im tired of seein them man, standin hungry and homeless in front of that post office baby
They did it right for us, and all in good time and all without question baby
So Im asking you man! Least we know we can make it right now. Thats right
Thats right! So Im asking you man, lets make it perfectly clear
Where do you stand? Where are you? I am asking you
Whats up with that? Whats up with that yeah? Whats up with now
We got our pride, pride and honor baby! We got our pride, pride and honor baby
We got our pride, pride and honor baby! Thats right man, common
Lets we not forget now. Lets we not forget baby
Lets we not forget now. Let em not be forgotten yeah
