If it's hot then give God the glory. If it's not then blame Mitch.
I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.

Story behind the song
Pictures of the damage from Hurricane Sandy made me think of the story of the wise man and the foolish man. The song is not calling people who suffered damage from the storm foolish. It is an attempt to make us think about following the word of God instead of just hearing the word of God. God bless and strengthen all those who suffered the loss of community, property, and even life during Hurricane Sandy and other devastating storms.
Lyrics
ON SOLID GROUND And I’m on solid ground Nothing can knock me down Oh no, I know for sure Because I dug way down, until the rock I found I know, I stand secure On solid ground oh I’m on solid ground Oh 2 men were just alike everything about them even And they both set out to build houses to live in One got a piece of property down by the ocean So he could watch the waves and tide roll in He built his house with skill and precision But built his house on the sand that was shifting The other man built his house the same way all around The difference he built his house on solid ground He dug down deep until he found the rock anchored his foundation firm from bottom to top Both these men had the same set skills and tools But the Bible calls one man wise and one it calls fool. I’m on solid ground Nothing can knock me down Oh no, I know for sure Because I dug way down, until the rock I found I know, I stand secure On solid ground (Oh, I’m on solid ground Oh) 2 days pasts then two months, then two years And the man who built his house on the sand was felling secure Till one day the clouds darkened and wind started howling the rain started pouring and waves started pounding the tide rushed in and tore way at the sand the house started creaking, and boards were braken a great split raced across the ceiling and the front porch tore off as the house was leaning The walls where shaking, furniture falling Window smashed in and the damage was appalling Then whole house collapse and fell in the storm But the house on the solid ground -- stood firm I’m on solid ground Nothing can knock me down Oh no I know for sure Because I dug way down, until the rock I found I know, I stand secure This is more than a song it’s the story of our lives either you play the part of the fool or the part of the wise It’s not that one heard God’s word and the other one missed it The fool hear the word of God, he just chose not to live it The wise man hears and obeys, stands on God’s word the fool hears ignores and is ultimately destroyed You might be fine awhile and think you’ve made a safe landing But I promise a storm is coming, so watch where you’re standing I’m on solid ground Nothing can knock me down Oh no I know for sure Because I dug way down, until the rock I found I know, I stand secure On Solid Ground (On Christ the solid Rock I stand All other ground is sinking sand) On Solid Ground Words by Joseph Johnson Music by D.J.
