This was writter by Geno back in 1992. I believe the idea came to him after losing one who always called him his Best Pal. His grandfather. It is now Geno that is so missed by Gene sr. his father Geno is my hero and always will be my Best Pal.

Story behind the song
Back in 1991 when my dad left this world to go to that better place, My Son Geno and his grandfather were very close my dad also played piano. I remember Geno tugging on his grandfather in the chapel.
I had to stop Geno and he put his arms around me and went limp on me with his weight as he was crying, “Dad don’t you ever leave me.” We both were grieving and it was like I heard my Dad voice saying, “Everything I did for you, you do for him.” It wasn’t a long after that time that Geno wrote this song. “Can’t get there from here.”
