Songs that I hope will draw you closer to a relatonship with Christ!
This summer (2003) it occurred to me that the gifts and abilities I have were all given to me by my Heavenly Father. When I pondered why he gave them to me, and knowing that our purpose here on earth is to bring glory to our Father in Heaven, I quickly realized that I need to be using these gifts as an offering to God, and not just for my own personal gain. I have been writing songs for years now as a hobby, and almost no one has ever heard a single one of them. They were purely for my own enjoyment. Most of these were actually Christian songs, since that has been my passion for several years now. After this realization, however, I became challenged and motivated to do something more with my music, and I set a goal for myself that by the end of the year, I'd use my songwriting talents to share the good news of Christ's love for us. Story behind the song
I was inspired to write this song while holding my baby girl, 'Grace' in my arms a few days after taking her home from the hospital. I was overwhelmed with emotion, and a big part of me was looking forward to the day when I can share my faith in Christ Jesus with her and maybe some day even witness the moment she comes to truly understand His love and saving grace for her. But at the same time, I was totally content with her just the way she was, sleeping peacefully in my arms, and I was in no hurry to have her grow up before my eyes. My prayer is that as you listen to this song, you can come to better appreciate the privilege we have as parents to experience the miracle of a child, and the chance we have to share our faith in Christ with the very handiwork of God. If you are a parent and don't know Christ personally, perhaps you should dig a little bit deeper and ask yourself the question of who other than a loving God could have given you such an awesome gift, the gift of your child? It's the very same God- your Father in Heaven, who shed blood and died for you on a cross just so he could be with you forever. Yes, He loves you that much too!
