For all the trouble it gave you, that lyre sounds simply amazing. Then of course there's the fascinating rhythms, the grand melodies and brilliant production. Thank you for sharing this!

Very beautiful music. The lyre sure adds a very special tone that makes the piece sound very authentic. The vocal tunes are very nice as is this whole piece. This is a wonderful piece of music!

After reading your story on the SC page I had to come hear this Lyre instrument in action. It really provides an amazing effect and goes right with this piece. The whole song is amazing and very artistic Glad to have caught this one!

04/03/15 Update: Awesome sauce! ___________________________________________ Wow, very cool! Great intro. Awesome exploratory of sonicscapes. It's a stunning piece of musical expression! A tortured thunderous musical fusion starting at 34 sec. Very creative. The title captures the musical expression here very well. Divine at 1:44. Beautiful and stunning musical creativity Professor Massey!

Very powerful and dramatic intro. Love the sound of the lyre. Wonderful music and female vocals. Great work Al.

Love this one Al, from the seemingly malevolent strat work, lifted by the heavenly celtic female vocal. And the lyre gives this a distinctive air that captures a sense of cinema and grandeur. Interesting to the last note...

Historical tunes with a window in the simple ancient past looking at the present complicated world of the 21st century.. originality is the key word.. wonderful work.

Stunning Al! At first it reminded me of a cross between Dream Theater and Kitaro! But the bit about the Lyre was fascinating as I just love all stringed instruments. In between my latest Soundworld journeys I've been spending a lot more time with my acoustic guitars. There just aren't enough hours in the day! Keep up the stellar jams my friend. The "teaser" you sent out was just that...2013 has started off with a real Ascenzion bang!

I didn't know where to start for this challenge...but you certainly did! man Al, you are just the creme de la creme when it comes to composition, playing and production. This was an incredible audio journey. Visual, atmospheric, and just full of fascinating textures and tones. One of your most abstract and coolest pieces i have heard yet. Your stuff is incredible! this is a remarkable change of pace for you and demonstates your adaptable nature as a true creator of music. a luscious blend of sounds and textures. a most enjoyable experience, an auditory delight.
A magnificent song, Al!!!!! Other than a few esoteric academic musicians who create ancient music on original/recreated instruments, you are the only contemporary musician I know who actually has played and recorded on an Ancient Greek Lyre. BRAVO for your inventive genius on this fantastic song. And CONGRATULATIONS on your creative brilliance in playing and orchestrating this modern/ancient Greek Myth/Music composition for the February 2013 CBC Song Challenge. There were many wonderful songs submitted by great musicians, but your masterful song and production were the Best of the Best!. Thanks for the pleasure of this song and the download.
