Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Lyrics
You say I never listen, I hear it all the time you always make decisions just before you change your mind how did we get stuck in this awful grind? so we're living on a promise that we carved into a tree and not the first ones to mistake love for biology the time has come for both of our hearts to break love isn't always what we make and that tree still holds our names, framed in a heart of grey a fossilizing memory of an ancient saturday it's hard to tell if love is real or it's just a fake love isn't always what we make I remember that day by the river when we made a solemn vow but it seems as though we've moved a long way from it now love isn't always what we make love isn't always what we make

Fabulous. The horn arrangement, the light and shade, the guitar lead part (and slide) that's soooo good, and I feel like I'm right there in the audience. Sophisticated !

This is fantastic Ralph on so many levels. Smooth uptempo vocals, killer horn arrangement, wonderful production. The Latin rhythm is so hot...sizzling guitar solo. ( oh, by the way, the intro was great. Love the organ...very creative dude. You have a winner.
