Katyn was founded in August 2008 by Mathias, Mikal and Matthias. They started out with just playing for fun and didn't write songs on a much too serious level. In early 2011 Tom joined the band and the band grew in to a more hard working and progressive band. As a natural effect of this the song writing become more serious and the songs more complete... When Nicholay joined the band the long search for a second guitarist was over and we gave our band the name KATYN...
