Once we decided the name of the band the others thought it would be a good idea if I went away and wrote a song of the same name.... So here it is....

The band started off as three piece - guitar, banjo, vocals, but another friend of ours played guitar and sang so we persuaded him to play washtub bass then he bought himself a double bass last year - still occasionally longs for the simplicity of the 'tub. Our fiddle boy and banjo man walked off into the sunset and we have gradually recruited new horses: JohnFrance-dobro Alley Heley-fiddle Tony Hopper-percussion Simon Fitzpatrick-mandolin to add to the stalwarts- Chris Mullarkey-double bass Di Nicholson-Vocals,Gtr Gary Nicholson-Vocals,Gtr,Banjo.

Lyrics
Something Spooked the Horses Well somethin’ spooked the horses Out there in the barn A colder wind has blown on through The weather man has warned Cause every time you’ve left me Nothin’s quite the same And the horses in the stable Are callin’ out your name Well if I live forever And jesus is my friend And somethin’ spooks the horses It might not be the end So if somethin’ spooks the horses Tell me it was you With jesus hard beside you Watchin’ over you If I’d a silver dollar For every time I’ve missed you And some thin’ spooks the horses I’ll only think of you Break Well somethin’ spooked the horses Just as the sun came up And I did try to listen But everythin’s messed up Somethin’ spooked the horses They’ll never be the same I’ll open up the stable door And let them roam the plain. c.HaggMusic2002
