Story behind the song

This song was inspired by a sermon I heard given by Pastor Dan Grider at Daybreak Church in Carlsbad CA. back in 1992. I have the vivid memory of Dan walking around the stage with his hands in the shape of an O held against his chest, speaking of how most of us are running around with this huge void inside. He talked about how we try to fill this void with worldly things like money, cars, houses and other pleasures of life only to find that the fulfillment is only temporary and we are right back where we started, with that void. This song is about finally waking up and realizing that the only thing that can fill this void is God and through His grace and love, will we truly be happy and reap the rewards He wants to give us.
