Just me. Just songs.
I was born with an undiagnosable brain dysfunction, having seizures, and with blue skin dur to oxygen deprivation. I would spend much of my youth on strong, mind-altering medication, I would ultimately end up being declared fully disabled on psychiatric grounds, and I've had to be committed to five different psychiatric facilities in three different states. These days, the primary thrust of my overall creative efforts is the advocacy work that I seek to do for the mentally ill and the mentally disabled. These are my songs.

Story behind the song
I wrote the core lyric behind this song in July of 2008 as a tribute to my wife, the beautiful Mrs. Bertram...and my good friend singer/musician/songwriter/producer Glenn Spayth had it produced into this demo just five days later. I love working with Glenn and this remains one of the all-time favorite productions that I've ever been involved in - and it was also one of my first productions, too. I still enjoy getting to share it...and both Glenn and I hope that you enjoy getting to listen. Ray Bertram
Lyrics
How I Look In Your Eyes Verse 1: Some days I do so good Some days I fall apart Some days I'm on cloud nine Or I have a broken heart But you look at me and smile My heart sprouts wings an' flies I can't help but love How I look in your eyes Chorus: You've seen me at my best You've seen me at my worst You've seen me come in last You've seen me come in first And I'll never understand It comes as a surprise Whenever you see me How I look in your eyes Verse 2: I'm on top of the world Or at the bottom of it all I climbed up to the top Only to take a fall But how you look at me And what you seem to see It never seems to change It's such a mystery Chorus: You've seen me at my best You've seen me at my worst You've seen me come in last You've seen me come in first And I'll never understand It comes as a surprise Whenever you see me How I look in your eyes "How I Look In Your Eyes" (c) 2008 W.
