The recording and mixing was done as quickly as possible- or as the processing time allowed- to avoid intellectual input and interference. I was not quite sure what I was setting out to do, but had an inkling of what I did not want to do. We exist within design and formula and our taste in music reflects that. Contrivance is there, but may be taking a back seat behind convenience, apathy and atrophic reliance on repetition of what we accept as comfortable- ie. a very narrow band of rythm, tone,colour and texture.
When I listen back to the music I've been making, I feel like I am listening to someone else's creations. Sometimes I am exhilerated and sometimes frustrated, because my conditioning wants things a certain way. This may be what I am looking for.
