Tribute to the Lost Legends of Country Music. I wrote this song on the backs of others tragedy. I wish I could have stopped Keith Whitley and Mel Street; not to mention a slew of other lost Greats along the way.
Story behind the song
We Lost Keith Whitley and so many others.. I would go back in a second if I could. If only to try and stop the great legends from finding the end to their trail.

Nashville’s Time Machine

VERSE 1
If it was up to me
And I called the shots
Controlled a Time Machine
That controlled Nashville’s Clocks
If I knew it all
The future and the past
I would put my hand
Over Whitley’s glass
And I, would say, Don’t
Instead, go out, and play, Golf
If I could turn a few dials
And Reset the clock
Don’t think for a minute I won’t
But I don’t
CHORUS 1
I Don’t Have a Time Machine
I don’t know everything
If I did Pasty Cline Would be here
Wynette would be cured , Dotty West would still tour
Waylon and I would share beer
That’s what I do in one week
If there could only be
A Nashville Time Machine
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK (Same progression as Chorus)
VERSE 2
If there was a way
To pause a day
Fix what was broken
Then just hit Play
October 21
Nine-teen Seventy-eight
I’d sit with Mel Street
We’d enjoy his birthday
And I, would say, Don’t
Please Mel, Just Hang On
If I could turn a few dials
Reset the clock
Don’t think for a minute I won’t
But I Don’t
CHORUS 2
I Don’t have a Time Machine
I Don’t know everything
If I did maybe Vern would be here
Conway would still Sing
Bout’ Tight fittin’ Jeans
Eddie Rabbit and I would share beer
That’s what I’d change in one Week
If there could only be
A Nashville Time Machine
A Nashville Time Machine
