Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
I'm not religious I'm not even a believer But I'm completely in awe of the creations human beings have made as a direct result of spiritual belief. Art, music, and particularly architecture are at their most powerful when sacred. Churches, temples, mosques, synagogues and cathedrals are the most wondrous structures on earth in my opinion. This was inspired by Rievaulx Abbey in Yorkshire near where I grew up. Its ruins are still jawdropping half a millennium after Henry VIII sacked it, by which time it had already been standing for 400 years. You just can't comprehend what it must have been like in its heyday. Once again big big thanks to Jude Law for setting another intriguing challenge and making us poor musos attempt styles of music we normally wouldn't - and having a hell of a time doing it too. Not hell sorry :)

Greta one Steve!
Seth, I'm half English so I guess I can say of this outstanding song: BLOODY FABULOUS! In other words, this music is exquisite from organ to strings to all of the many symphonic elements so blended into one masterpiece of the Spirit. Thank you for this musical pleasure, and for the download of this memorable song.
