Story behind the song
After 40 years I reunited with a class mate of mine, Phillip Patterson, from high school. We spoke on the phone and eventually hooked up when he was on his way to visit the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C... Afterwards, he sent me this poem which I put to music.

Well done Michael, the arrangement is superb and I felt like I was in a jazz club. I only wish the constant high frequency sound (open hi-hat?) would be toned down a bit but that's just me. Good job overall.

Words and music are well-suited in this poignant social commentary with delectable musical accompaniment. Killer trumpet riffs.
