Story behind the song

I spend so much time with my guitar that a friend told me I should write a song about how my guitar could never leave my side, sort of like a cowboy and his hat.  This is what came of that idea.  Though I've never lived the life exactly depicted in this song, I have felt like my life like this, wandering from place to place, having no particular direction, but doing what I love to do.  And also the happiness that comes when you find home.  That is what this song is about.
