a jazz ballad with Tim Lowe on tenor sax
rock piano vocals harmony funk jazz instrumental blues experimental rhythm and blues improvisation multi genre
Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Story behind the song
I had done this tune a couple of years ago when I was still a recording noob. This is an all new recording much closer to my original intention for the song...special thanks to Tim Lowe for his 'testament' on the tenor sax! Check out Tim's music here: http://www.soundclick.com/members/default.cfm?member=Tim%20Lowe dedicated to the memory of Conrad Yavis 1951-2010 vocalist extraordinaire
Lyrics
Pull back the curtain and take a little peek I haven't been to work in well over a week A pile of newspaper sits out on the walk and my mind keeps flashing 12 o'clock The thoughts in my head make it hard to think so I pour another reefer and roll another drink and try to figure out what caused my world to rock but my mind keeps flashing 12 o'clock Do unto others as you would have them do unto you my friend There will be others Someone that you can love to the end Love to the end So go on and tear my heart apart 'cause I can see you're one well versed in the art and I'm finding it hard just to chew gum and walk when my mind keeps flashing 12 o'clock
