Running with Their Freedom

1st Verse:
It all begins when they are young.
They start to run away.
But when they find out they are lost, cry until they see your face.
Then they think they’re old enough. They want to be on their own,
They don’t know that they are lost. They forget the way home.
Chorus:
They're running with their freedom, they don’t think they need you.
Running on the edge of doom. It’s not like you’re gonna catch them,
Never gonna reach them. They follow a pied piper’s tune.
Bridge:
Rules they’re made to break em. They’re never gonna take em..
They think that they belong to someone else.
2nd Verse:
It’s so hard to stop worrying about a future, you can’t see.
For a child, you once held so tight, so very close to you.
They think they know everything, but they don’t know the danger!
And when they stay away so long. They become a stranger.
Repeat Chorus:
Bridge:
Growing older changes many things.
Worlds can turn upside down.
But, for children who throw love away, there’s no lost and found.
Revised Chorus and ending:
They’re running with their freedom, they don’t think they need you.
Running on the edge of doom.
I pray to God we’re gonna catch them, that we can still reach them.
Lord let them be our prodigal ones.
