This native Oakland resident began singing and performing at an early age. Femi began studying piano and voice with several teachers until she was introduced to Vivian E. Jones the Director of the world -renowned Castleers. Through Ms. Jones relentless efforts, Femi began learning how to read and write music, stage performance and directing. This became the strong musical foundation on which she currently stands. She has later attended Texas Southern University majoring in Music, Theatre and Dance. Since then she has performed and collaborated with artists such as Mystic, Ledisi, Prophets of Rage, Dwayne Wiggins, Punany Poets. Her depth as a songwriter and arranger Writing and producing songs for other aspiring artists, matches her powerful presence as a singer. Femis’ musical influences range from Hip-Hop to Jazz, Rhythm & Blues to Afro-Caribbean music. Currently Femi is producing and recording her first solo project with her band Level Seven and plans to release the album independently in the US and abroad through her production company Musique Noire Productions.
