It's a jazz-rock-etheral-I'm not sure what else kind of song.
Fusion blues rock with soul and sincerity
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Story behind the song
You really should hear the song before reading this; these descriptions are like music videos; it's only one persons' interpretation. Your mileage may vary.
Here's the deal:
A man takes a drive across the deserts of the southwest to forget about his past.
He has an out-of-body experience ala Carlos Castenada (read his stuff if you dont recognize his name, it's worth it) and I think he's still out there, circling high on the thermals.
Lyrics
El Camino
Sunlight crawls across the well-worn cantina floor
Where many have struggled with love, and lust, and lost.
It points me towards the door and the bright desert haze beyond
Where an old El Camino waits in the dust with my name on the door.
Right on the driver's door.
The car leaps onto the two track, making for the vanishing point.
In my rear view her memory slowly becomes a mirage.
Blue cacti shadows they race me across the desert floor
And then run up on the mountians and onto the first stars of the night.
I've been down this road once before but it was in a dream.
Stars all above and below me- all is not as it seems in my El Camino.
The Navajo had a name for this place that I've got myself into.
The shamans say the white man is asleep for most of his life.
Far below me I can see the Camino on the road.
Making her way into what surely must unfold.
(piano solo)
I've been down this road once before but it was in a dream.
Stars all above and below me- all is not as it seems in my El Camino.
