Sailors on a ship comming into shore to escape a bad storm get an SOS call from a ship in distress. They risk their lives and go back out to save them with their captain's encouragement.
Medium heat rock and roll with touches of classical, country, and folk.

Story behind the song
My grandfather was a crewman on large boats that fished on the grand banks of the Atlantic. They would leave home for months at a time until they had filled up their holds with fish. It was a dangerous life. They didn't have the weather warnings that we do today - or the helicopters etc. They were like marines though - they didn't want tp leave anyone behind. Seemed like a code of "Do unto others.......".
Lyrics
All Hands on Deck
Words and music by John Morrison - copyright 1999
Attention all hands on deck, there's been a message.
We're back to the open seas, make way for the passage
Get on the ship to shore, and relay the warning
Maybe we can Save their Souls if we get there by morning
There're seven seas and seven graves for every sailor
The day will come when we'll be the ones who needs a savior
And on that day, some-one may, return the favor
Have strength to steer, 'round your fears, and get their souls ashore
Wind is rising fast, rig the ship for a hard run
Pray to the God you know, make sure its a quick one
Steady as she goes lads, your the best of the good ones
There'll be plenty of time for the sun , when this hard night's work is done
There're seven seas and seven graves for every sailor
The day will come when we'll be the ones who needs a savior
And on that day, some-one may, return the favor
Have strength to steer, 'round your fears, and get their souls ashore

Has a savior
Do the favor
Let's all get safe ashore
