Story behind the song
new Rickenbacker, new drummer...me!
Lyrics
My Take on Your Take Tossed into this by some things left behind Lost by the signs that we thought we could find There was a place we could feel in our dreams Here is a place - but it’s not what it seems Chorus: Our only mistake The one that we make No longer awake My take on your take Bold as the right to do as we please Older than time and deep as the seas How do we move from favour to fate? Now is the time - but it may be too late All of our hopes, all of our tears, all of our dreams cast aside How do we live? How do we breathe? Why don’t we just let it slide? Why don’t we stay here - I know you’re still here - it’s not easy to hide We wanted it all - we wanted it now - we’re still waiting Vows, once so strong, now lie on the floor Now we are free - we want nothing more Armed with the knowledge that comes from our pain Harmed by design - we’ll do it again JMB March 2011 (SOCAN)

Hey Jeff. I've read about the Rickenbacker in another place. Curious about it so here I am. Man what a cool track. Love the lyrics and the natural flow of chords. You are definately one of my fav singers. Another fav singer said tis is good, I think it's excellent. Another hi-light in your impressive ouvre. Linked through to my FB profile. All best to ya.

Love the Ricky! Its a little jangly, but you still have a bit of surf tone happening on it! The melody and music seem to perfectly capture the moodiness of the lyric. Tis good!
