Story behind the song
Mood Swings. Quintet for muted trumpet, electric piano, xylophone, acoustic bass and drums. Anyone who has been in a relationship can relate to this. It is basically a dialogue between two people, the muted trumpet and xylophone, in which each side is making their grievances known to the other. The electric piano, acoustic bass and drums, friends of the two, also play a supportive role in the dialogue. It starts out somewhat congenial, but soon, they are each talking with no regard for what the other is saying. In the end, in unison, they agree to disagree.
This one is ear candy. Pretty, and catches me from the beginning, then so cool. Somewhat complex stuff as all your music is to me -- yet, so clearly well put together and played that I think I understand it ... even if I couldn't compose or play it. :)
