a song about Canucks retiring to a warmer climate
rock piano vocals harmony funk jazz instrumental blues experimental rhythm and blues improvisation multi genre
Hi! I'm a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently living in Fredericton, N.B., Canada. I've been performing music in one way or another since the mid '60's, starting out singing tenor in a barbershop quartet with my brothers and then into a progression of bands playing rock, jazz, blues and country and... whatever. It's been a fun ride so far and I'm still as exited about it as the day I began. Ralph Atkinson

Story behind the song
This is kind of a light hearted look at the phenomena of Canadians who expatriate themselves to warmer climates during their retirement years.
Lyrics
I've lived a good long northern life spent many winters in discontentment this is where I live but it's not where I wanna die and after all the time I've spent here I'm gonna buy a condo in San Diego see the sun sink in the shining sea hey, this is what I've worked all of my life for to spend my last days on a sunny shore Un condo en San Diego un condo en San Diego Not for lack of patriotism I'm doin' it for my rheumatism I'll sell my house, sell my ski-doo come back for Christmas in a year or two you can come along if you wanna we'll go sunday shopping down in Tijuana feel the earth quake beneath our feet and hope we die before it slides into the sea Un condo en San Diego un condo en San Diego I'm gonna buy a condo in San Diego to spend my last days on a sunny shore

Real nice song with some thoughtful lyric and a little humor thrown in to boot. But, be careful when you shop in Tijuana, lol. Great writing...enjoyed the sound! Farrell Jackson
