I wrote this song after I had been sober for quite a while. The song is really about a conversation with God, but some people think it is about a man and a woman relationship. It works more as a crossover song that way.
Take You Home
Sometimes my life seems easy
And sometimes it seems so complicated
There were times when I should have listened
To that inner voice, and I hesitated
Sometimes I feel so close; and sometimes I feel so far away
When I do; I can always hear you say
Chorus
Pick yourself up and try again
You know I?ll always be your friend
I?ll be there when you roam
And I?ll be there to take you home
Sometimes it amazes me; the magnitude of your love
It?s unconditional, it?s pure; and it comes from above
The gift you gave to me; and the price, you had to pay
The inspiration you give; when I listen, I can hear you say
Chorus
Take You Home
I want to be with you; I want to come right now
You have shown me the way; oh yes, you have shown me how
In the stillness of the morning; in the silence of my day
The hope you give to me; I seem to hear you say
Chorus
Ooh oh, I?ll be there to take you home?Yeah baby, oh oh
I?ll be there to take you home ???.(fade)
