Story behind the song
This recording is in cerebration of the 400 year anniversary of publication "The muses gardin for delights or fifth booke of ayers, 1610. This is the complete song which repeats the same music 3 times for the 3 stanzas of lyrics. This is my 'Take 1' and 'Take 4' spliced together. It starts with 'Take 4' and 'Take 1' [the Acoustic piano take] is spliced in 1/2 way through the 1st stanza. 'Take 1' did not make it to the 3rd stanza so we go back into 'Take 4' to finish the song. I will not have many newly recorded songs in the coming years. I started this in 2009 but it was mostly recorded in 2010. August 27, 2009 - Rhythm Acoustic guitar & guide vocal for 'Take 1, 2, 3 & 4'. April 5, 2010 - Acoustic piano on 'Take 1'. April 6, 2010 - New age pad on 'Take 4'. April 9, 2010 - Honky Tonk piano bass on 'Take 1', & pick bass on 'Take 4'. April 30, 2010 - Vocal on 'Take 1, 2, 3 & 4'. - PTC
Lyrics
X. The sea hath many thousand sands The Sea hath many thousand sands, The Sun hath motes as many, The sky is full of stars And love as full of woes as an-ny, Beleeue me that doe know the elfe, And make no Tryall by thy self. It is in trueth a pretty toy, For babes to play withall, But O the honies of our youth, Are oft our ages gall, Self proofe in time will make thee know, He was a Prophet told thee so. A Prophet that Cassandra like, Tells trueth without beliefe, For head-strong youth will run his race, Although his Goal be grief, Loves Martyr when his heat is past, Prooues cares Confessor at the last.
