DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF DARREL TAYLOR
One of those songs that just seems to write itself, over a simple incident- my girlfriend at the time hadn't come home yet, and nobody knew where she was. I remember dropping my hands on a piano in a college practice room, and them landing on that first chord of the keyboard riff- once I resolved it, I had my melody.
She was supposed to be home early tonight;
there's something in the air, and it doesn't feel right.
I'm wringing my hands as the minutes tick by.
If anything happened to her, I think I would die.
Something is very wrong
I tried to call, but she's not home
Something is very wrong
Where is she tonight?
Staring at the phone, waiting for it to ring
Waiting for a call or a message, anything
If I knew that you'd be here, I'd sit here all day
My heart beats faster the longer you're away
Something is very wrong
I tried to call, but she's not home
Something is very wrong
Where is she tonight?
