Story behind the song
Watching the news one night. They were interviewing some family involved in a flood. The lady said they'd moved to that location to get away from floods and got hit again. Cut to a video of some poor guy on a roof. Man that the BLUES.
Lyrics
I got my unbrella out, but it wont do much good. Seems everythings under water, in my neck of the woods. And my roof's an island, I cant afford to lose. Look at me people, I got those High Water Blues. Waters everywhere, not a speck of land in sight. It's been raining cats and dogs, since the other night. And someone flew over head, to film me for the news. I wish they'd come back for me. I got those High Water Blues. I'm Gonna find me a bottle, send out an SOS note. Hope someone will find it, send this poor boy back a boat. Two long years, of natures abuse. Look at me still, I got those High Water Blues. I had the Blues last Summer, I've had the blues all Night. I've got this strong urge to slumber, but I'm holding on so tight. I've got those High Water Blues, there the meanest blues of all. And I'm gonna have those High Water Blues, till the waterline starts to fall. I'm Gonna find me a bottle, send out an SOS note. Hope someone will find it, send this poor boy back a boat. Two long years of natures abuse. Look at me still, I got those High Water Blues.
