What motivated me to write this song was trying to find a way of giving in a way that could be generous and possibly endless. If we walk through life without giving back then something is wrong. Their innocence deserve a second chance.
They all wan't to be part of the Christmas play
And get that chance to play at second base
He could be the next star on his football team
Some day she might even be homecoming queen
They pray each night before they sleep
Asking you for their souls to keep
And can you please
Let our dreams come true
It all depends on you
Even our doctors pray
Let us spread our wings and fly
And have the chance to try
To please you everyday
The only thing we're asking
Is for Second Chances.
Their simple wishes hang above their beds
In pictures drawn in blue, green and red
Innocence untouched by their reality
Only heaven knows how great their lives could be
You hold their future in your hands
They're asking you for a Second Chance
Repeat chorus
The only thing we're asking
Is for Second Chances
