SIDE A
In the ditch of gold that is higher folds
I found a penny shining for peace
On Holden Road running for the gold
A double decker bus non-precis
Eventually
In the ow'ld Boars Head well off one's head
Stout-Pickle and je n'ais parlais
In the Spinnng J- with a ball and chain
Dreaming dreams of a sweet refrain
Respectfully
In the George & Dragon whilst off the wagon
With a chippy and an all zones pass
With a 582 and a 26
And a cherry-pop smelling of gas
An Avacab and a dead kebab
A fortune in bent cigars
A live rugby game and Georgie Fame
Met some Beat Boys at the bar
The Leigh canal and the Brut-Chanel
And the overflowing bins
The morning come, a glimpse of sun
and that thought of a win, win, win
St. Mary's church, a taste of re-birth
Red rose and a peck on the cheek
The average town with an average pound
With a rhyme to help you to wreak (havoc)
Eventually
