NOTHING'S AS DEADLY AS LOVE
Rain on my windshield
Making that sound
Just like the tears I
Left on the ground
Mulling it over
There's you and me
Stranded in our lethargy
All my life I've watched the light
Get bought and sold
By the ones who don't have a soul
And the world's gone from useless to uselesser
Dragging its feet in the mud
One by one we get stupider than Jupiter
Because gleeful turns lethal and
Nothing's as deadly as love
Alpha, Omega... and all in between
You make me human, my reason for being
We've both been damaged, thrown in the fire
Now terrified by our own desire
All my life I've watched our lives
Get bought and sold
By the scum that's taking control
And the world's gone from plentiful to pitiful
Shedding or leaking the blood
List of absent friends has grown some more again
Because gleeful turns lethal and
Nothing's as deadly as love
God only knows if I'll ever win
But I can't help getting back up again
I don't go gently
Into that good-night
And the world's is a carnival of carnivores
It always was but never this much
So I fly; resigned though the sky; a meteor
Because gleeful turns lethal and
Nothing's as deadly as love
Because gleeful turns lethal and
Nothing's as deadly as love
You know gleeful turns lethal;
Nothing's as deadly as love....
