Americana with a bit of country waltz. I handled lead, rhythm 6 & 12 string acoustic & bass guitars, and MIDI harmonica. Jeff Kratzman added the acoustic finger-pick guitar, covered vocals, programmed drums, and handled production. (Thanks, Jeff!)
I wrote this one for my wife, Sally. She’s simply the best!
The musical direction was inspired by the Ken Burns documentary on country music not my typical style but an enjoyable journey.
All that is needed when I’m with my true love
Is a wink or a nod and a smile.
The good times, the bad times, the sad times, and glad times
We share as our lives intertwine.
No words are sufficient to say what I feel,
But her hand holding mine makes it real.
The first time I met her, I thought could be true love
So, I looked for a clue in her eyes.
A glance led to gazing, with smiles on our faces
Content in our calm for the while.
No words were required for feelings revealed,
And her hand holding mine made it real.
No times are bad times when she’s here with me.
Good times are great times when she smiles at me.
For all time, I’ll need her. I know she’s my true love,
And the fire never dims in her eyes.
The good times, the bad times, the sad times, and glad times
We’ll hold in our hearts for all time.
No words can deter me or change how I feel,
For her hand holding mine makes it real.
No times are bad times when she’s here with me.
Good times are great times when she smiles at me.
