Impression of canoeing on the Grand River in Waterloo County on September 25th, 1999.
On September 25, Prof. Silveston invited Kimmy and me to canoeing on Grand River. That was our first experience to canoe. It was a gorgeous day: Clear sky, no wind and moderate temperature. We could enjoy three hours canoeing all the way. The water was smooth as a mirror, reflecting the beautiful autumn leaves in red and yellow. Many birds were seen: Blue herons on trees, larks in the sky and kingfishers across the river. We could hear only the birds’ carol and the river stream. The trip was perfect and I made the music for this trip. This piece was altered and entitled Music for Stillness: Part I in Mrs. Carol Hudgins’ performance.
