A big rock song to complete the, 'Keeper Of The Lightning' album.
An autobiographical story. St. Ives, Cornwall in the late 1960s and early 1970s was 'the' place to go. Artistic people and dreamers such as me seemed to be drawn to it ... the place holds very special memories.
So Far Away From Home David A Briggs (c) 2023
Guitar intro:
I saw the sea and the sea looked back at me.
The clouds rolled by, leaving an empty sky.
So far, so far away from home.
So far, so far away from home.
We met on the steps, on the path down to the sea.
Sketchbook in hand, I paint what you don't see.
The girl, the girl from another world.
a girl, so far away from home.
What now, what next ... what are we going to do now?
... what next, what are we going to do now?
The things I do, my dreams will see me through.
we all get by but the parts I play are true.
now I'm so far away from home.
now I'm so far away from home.
guitar solo:
what are we going to do now?
... what next, what are we going to do now?
Turn off the lights and say your fond goodnights.
Treat her well, she's the pearl inside the shell.
So far away from home ... So far away from home
So far away from home ... So far away from home
instrumental ending with dreamy atmospheric sounds
