Keith Cook - guitar, bass, vocals Leon Russell - drums
Awhile back I ended up with Leon Russell's drum machine.
I wrote 20 songs around everything left on it and there were 9 that he arranged which are denoted by the number he saved them on the machine as being included in the title, for example (Song 01).
I also included alternate versions of those 9 songs as instrumentals.
When the darkness came for an eternal night time
Stealing everything from my forever empty heart
The stars that once dotted the sky of space and time in this place and time
Remind me of my missing counterpart
You took my heart an ran down the highway
It will haunt me til the day I die
Love is just a memory of by gone days
The hymns of the years gone by.
I wonder If this is how it must always be
The endless sleepless dreamless nights
The music still ringing in my head
Echos of all the time I shared with you
When I think back to the beginning
Anything you could imagine seemed a possibility
But not it seems back dated and faded fated
Is this my only solace
the memories of melodies
In a park beside the water were we met
Where the lost highways no longer go
You first took my hand
The crows sang the of legends of the ages of old
Of all that came and went an will be
dreams in the city of rain
To the wind our earthly remains
In the memories of melodies
and a river of tearstains
