Did I make the right choice?
Did I make the right choice?
The Road I Left Behind
Written by Michael Maroon
Sometimes my mind will roam, freedom at last, I'm alone.
Sometimes I want to stay, it seems life just drifts away.
Fate, on the downside, close by,
like a landslide, caves in the road I left behind.
Shock, choice demanded, look back,
understand, can't take back the road I left behind.
Cornered within, I thought, amplified senses I got.
Honored that sin, I fought, justified I gained a lot.
Wait, I can't fight it. The pain, I can't hide it.
The hurt, burning deep inside.
Stop, can't control it, take hold, you may lose it.
Be bold, brave, and face the ride.
Walked in through static haze, timeless, I froze while in the maze.
Octaves and harmony, melodies past, I could have made.
Fate, on the downside, close by,
like a landslide, caves in the road I left behind.
Shock, choice demanded, look back,
understand, can't take back the road I left behind.
Nothing should stay the same, if things can change for the good.
Then you should let remain, leave it for someone who could.
Choices that I passed up on the road I left behind.
Choices that I passed up on the road I left behind
