An epic setting of the final Psalm in the Biblical collection of poems and lyrics often ascribed to King David. "Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord"
When thinking about an opening track for an album that was reflecting on a number of years of playing contemporary Christian music, this felt like a good opening shot. The vocals are a little quiet for some folks taste, but the idea was to refect the 'mysterium tremendum' of the Divine! In other words... in the face of the Almighty we are at best shouting into the wind. Some awesome drumming by Gwyn Griffith on this one.
PSALM 150 (Pratt)
Praise God in His holy place
Praise Him in the vault of Heaven
The vault of His power
Praise Him for His mighty works
Praise Him for all His greatness
Of which no man can measure
Praise Him with fanfares on the trumpet
Praise Him with harp and lute
Praise Him with tambourines and dancing
Praise Him with strings and flute
Praise Him with the clash of cymbals
Praise Him with triumphant cymbals
Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord
Oh Praise the Lord'
