Version 2 - Slightly more uptempo, better mix. A cautionary tale about an angry, unbalanced woman who thinks all men are misogynists. Not based on one specific person, but rather a composite of various people I've known online.
There are lots of strange, angry people out there on the Internet. This is fictional story about a woman who thinks I'm a misogynist merely because I disagreed with her and took someone else's side, who happened to be a man. It's actually based on several people I've run across online.
I hate when people accuse me of being prejudice or racist, when in fact they don't really know me at all.
I've been called many names
Been accused of all sorts of misdeeds
Lord knows I ain't
A sinless person or a perfect human being.
One thing I know
I don't judge a person by how they were born
It gets real old
To be smudged by the radically misinformed
DeeDeeMaree and The Case of Mistaken Misogyny
From what she sees, I'm an outcast of society
DeeDeeMaree and The Case of Mistaken Misogyny
It seems to me, she just might owe me an apology
What'd I say (I don't know)
That earned me this false accusation
If I may
Be allowed to disagree with your position
And if I do
Take someone's side who's not a woman
I get accused
Of being a boys club member caveman
DeeDeeMaree and The Case of Mistaken Misogyny
Thinks that she, is an expert in psychology
Without the need of even knowing my basic personality
Just laugh it off
Is what friends keep on telling me
But just the thought
Of being wrongly accused so easily
DeeDeeMaree
Things didn't have to turn so nasty
DeeDeeMaree
Have you ever thought of getting therapy?
*SOLO*
DeeDeeMaree. Why can't you see?
DeeDeeMaree, not everyone is as you see
I can't begin to tell you how mistaken you are.
I can't begin to sell you the way things really are
Oh DeeDeeMaree
Oh DeeDeeMaree
DeeDeeMaree and The Case of Mistaken Misogyny
How wrong you can be, never crossed into your hostility
Why should I need, to explain my nobility.
DeeDeeMaree and The Case of Mistaken Misogyny
Whatever you see, twist it into incivility
DeeDeeMaree, a question of your volitility
You got me twisted all up inside, from your paranoid leaps of logic
You got my system stuck in high, and you make me feel so sick
And when you start spreading your delusional thoughts to everyone online
Posting private messages always with a slant towards your side.
Oh DeeDeeMaree, Oh DeeDeeMaree
If you could only see.
Not all men treat women so bad
Get to know them before taking a stand
Dee, what happened to make you this way
It's so sad life has lead you so far astray
Oh DeeDeeMaree, Oh DeeDeeMaree
If you could only see.
