Post Punk/Minimal EBM | A dream about a girl @ 136 bpm
This song was created using a bass line sample which I cut up into individual notes. Using this limited palate of notes, I used my Fender bass to work out something new. I re-assembled the new bass line in Accoustica 2.25. The beat, snares and electro samples in the interlude were all assembled with the same musique concrete technique. The vocals were recorded last.
The song & lyrics were written and produced in just 2 weeks. Single distributed on the DK Records label in iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Spotify, and Baboom.
I smell the orange blossoms, in the springtime air
I smell the orange blossoms, underneath her hair
I see her smile she’s so demure
See her eyes they look so pure
Is she escaping me? She is far away from me
Is she eluding me? She’s so far I cannot see
When she is close I bite her neck
When she’s not close I can’t keep track. No!
I smell the orange blossoms, in the springtime air
I smell the orange blossoms, underneath her hair
I know her well, she is brand new
Realize it’s just we two
Is she escaping me? I am lost in building three
So dark I cannot see, but she is there in front of me
I follow down a darkened hall
I press the elevator call. Yeah.
I smell the orange blossoms, in the springtime air
I smell the orange blossoms, underneath her hair
I see her in a crowded room
I see her underneath the bloom
I see her on the city street
I can see that we will never meet. No.
I smell the orange blossoms, in the springtime air
I smell the orange blossoms, underneath her hair
I see her smile she’s so demure
I see her eyes they look so pure
