Let the green wind embrace us, hold us close in bundles let us stand together and remember the circle ~
My dad was a sailor and he often looked at the sky. i remember the first time he took me outside to see the ring around the moon - a halo moon. i was so smitten with it - that moment never left me. After my dad passed away, though in quite a deeper vein than that moment, through my dad’s poet heart, this song came from that - it’s from back on my Halo Moon and the Red Dragon CD, 1998?
Halo Moon
We have always been nomads with our heart never changing
do you remember the look of peace on our faces
the hush of an old sky
whitewashed in the promise
trails tied like ribbons
in the web of days
Ooo it’s a halo moon, halo moon, humming
beneath our feet the frozen brush crumbles
though in the spring pools of leaves will sparkle
Ooo it’s a halo moon, halo moon, humming
The roots of the life tree grasp rocks and soil beneath the cradle
my thoughts they are building
they tremble a flood
the push like an ocean
Let the green wind embrace us, hold us close in bundles
let us stand together and remember the circle
Ooo it’s a halo moon, halo moon, humming
