This little bird only whispers good things!, as do all real friends to keep us on track when life gives us a good kicking!.
A collaboration between me and my good friend Lee Allison, we meet up for occasional jam sessions and inbetween jamming covers, we usually play our own latest creations, the tune from this song was Lee's. Anyway he asked me if i had any words that would suit it, and after hearing the tune and really liking it, i agreed to have a go. I ended up using a modified poem i had writen as it seemed to fit the mood of the music nicely.
Production was kept sparse, I just a couple of keyboard parts and a humming backing vox which i hope all add to the atmosphere of the piece.
The lyric is an uplifting ode to really stop and look at what you have all around you, be it good friends, love, nature, the world itself, as behind the bull sh** we cause ourselves and others, we are very lucky to be on this planet for however long is seen fit. Enjoy every second!.
The Little bird (count me in)
Slept soundless under willow wept waters, dreaming sweet memories that reality had deserted, whence crept into view dressed all feathered askew, a home truth from home secreted in blue
Driftwood gathering rivers swelling high, blocking fast any friendly tides, misled in misty mornings he harkened fantasize, these three little words can really make a life
Chorus
The little bird whispered who are you count me in , yes you’ll be fine (My )The soul bled backwards, 3 this soul means something .The curious wisdom is sailing now , on, is all mine, (if you can) just picture the scene
The crystal easel painted a charming view, of a wasteland scene set fair to improve, he borrowed a meaning to speak out of turn, in soaked filled tumbles and jumbles of words, this world feels nice to touch, as he looked up above, the little bird whispered back “ is this enough”, he silently nodded and a tear touched his cheek, I’ve been searching for something that I don’t really need,
Rest easy, assured for slumber will plunder every treasure mine imagined, and bring it safely back to a beating heart, if the mirror is a reflection you embrace and not deplore, There are no limits here, a life is untied, if you conquer your past and all that you despise, the sun will shine forever with you as its eyes.
