A brit popper performed by my one Man Band. Inspired by my trip to London as there are so many train stops. A made up story of a gal who leaves her lot in life only to realize 20 years later she is in the same position. New 10/18/2009.
Thinking of a London girl who is tired of working 3rd shift and having no money leaves her life behind and winds up feeling the same way 20 years later with her new life. Life is very ironic I think.
Sometimes the best choice is the one we dont take. I started thinking about the trains in London and the rain and well Standing alone in the Rain seemed like a natural thing to do.
Standing in the Rain
Words Music Tony DeLecce 10/11/2009
Working every night until the break of day
She said sheas getting tired living pay to pay
Standing on the platform waiting for the train
She took a step outside as it started to rain
She was standing alone in the Rain
Walking down the sidewalk she had plenty on her mind
She wanted to leave all of her problems behind
Walked around the corner away from the train
She lost track of time now it was too late
She was standing alone in the rain
Bridge
She needed something that sheall never find
She needed something that she left behind
Waking up alone in the middle of the night
No one is there and nothing is right
It was twenty years ago when she walked out in the rain
She missed her train and now its too late
Sheas standing alone in the rain
Living alone, feeling afraid
She said sheas getting tired of the Day to Day
Nobody said things would be this way
She took a step outside as it started to rain
Sheas standing alone in the rain
Bridge
She needs something that sheall never find
She needs something that she left behind
Working every night until the break of day
She said sheas getting tired living pay to pay
Standing on the platform waiting for the train
She took a step outside as it started to rain
Sheas standing alone in the rain
Sheas standing alone in the rain
