Story behind the song
THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN THE NIGHT OF MY WIFES BIRTHDAY, DEC 27TH 2008. INFACT IT WAS IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING ABOUT 4:30 A.M. I ACTUALLY WOKE UP SINGING THE SONG OUT OF MY SLEEP! IT WAS ALREADY IN MY HEAD AND SPIRIT, AND I FELT SO GOOD ABOUT THE SONG THAT I JUMPED UP OUT OF BED AND RUSHED TO MY OFFICE DOWN THE HALL AND WROTE THE LYRICS IN 30 MINUTES. THE MUSIC WAS ALREADY ENGRAVED IN MY HEAD. EVERY INSTRUMENT AND EVERY VOCAL HARMONY PART. MY PALMS WERE SWEATY AS I SANG THE WORDS AND MELODIES INTO A TAPE RECORDER REALIZING THAT THIS WAS A GREAT SONG! THE VERSES TO THE SONG WERE A PERSONAL TESTIMONY OF ALL THAT MY WIFE AND I HAD BEEN THROUGH OVER THE PREVIOUS 2 YEARS WITHIN OUR CHURCH MINISTRY AND WE HAD MADE IT THROUGH. SO THIS SONG IS A PERSONAL FAVORITE OF MINE BECAUSE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCCES SURROUNDING IT. I SINCERELY HOPE IT WILL BE A FAVORITE TO MANY AROUND THE WORLD! I CAN STILL FEEL IT FRESH IN MY SPIRIT EVEN THOUGH I'VE HEARD IT A THOUSAND TIMES...
Lyrics
you've been so good - you woke me up this morning started me on my way you've been so good - i was clothed in my right mind and i thank you everyday I just want to take a little time right now and say thank you lord for all you've done for me Don't need to complain for the problems in my life i'll give you the praise cause you always work it out ( CHORUS ) so many times you protected me from harm you were there with me guiding me through the storm when my enemies were planning my demise you gave me victory and you stepped in right on time ( CHORUS ) there were times when i felt so alone no one to call thought i'd carry it on my own but you were there so i had no need to fear and i'll never forget cause you dried up all my tears ( CHORUS ) I just want to testify to what the lords done for me he picked me up turn me around gave me the victory i'm never alone not on my own i wont be confused your spirits here guiding me guiding me safely through ( Repeat Chorus ) Written, Arranged and Produced by Garry Moore for Outreach Productions! / Last Days Records...
