Story behind the song
And there was this gang of three people, who collaborated on this song....and I think it came out beautifully. :D My grateful thanks for Tony Delecce and David Lunbeck who pitched in and contributed different parts. Tony did rhythm guitars and sang some harmonies; made me laugh while we worked together. :D David did the walking, talking, smoking lead....and provided plenty of moral support; another gentleman who makes me laugh, too. Both excellent musicians in their own right. :) Well, friends and neighbors, the rest was mine! :D Enjoy the listen. :)
Lyrics
I was lost, couldn't find my way. Stumbling through, The darkness of each day, I lived my life on the edge because, It was all I knew. That's the way it was. I was the sheep, missing from the fold. Lost again; You've heard the story told. The Shepherd came, gently touched my soul, He covered me; My heart was His to hold. Bridge/Chorus Oh, He came along and found me, Wrapped His arms around me. Changed my life, God was His name. Don't know what I'd do without Him, I'd be so lost without Him. He's my friend, And I'm so glad He came. Oh, I'd lived my life on the edge because It was all I knew, That's the way it was. That's the way it was... I look back down the road of my life, See the times, He'd had His hand on mine Oh, I'm so glad He took the time for me, Bore my sin, And truly set me free. Bridge after last chorus..
