A rock song about a teenage video gamer, inspired by my son.
My son is a gamer and his moniker for online play is usually "The Wireless Spatula" - so I wrote a video-game-centric song as a tribute to him.
The Spatula

He doesn't get the greatest grades
But he likes to go to school
Don't get complacent or underestimate him
'cause he's nobody's fool
He's got a plan and the strategy
He's all over the map
He can brawl with you all night
Until you fall into his trap
They call him the Spatula
Because he likes to mix it up
They call him the Spatula
One world is never enough
The Wireless Spatula
He's gonna put the hurt on you
And when he's done
And everything is through
You've been whipped by the Spatula
Video is the name of the game
And he's got the solution
The world is at his fingertips
It's a battle revolution
The way he works and the way he plays
He can take you out right now
But he's got a life and he's got the girl
And all you can play is W.O.W.
They call him the Spatula
Because he likes to mix it up
They call him the Spatula
One world is never enough
The Wireless Spatula
He's gonna put the hurt on you
And when he's done
And everything is through
You've been whipped by the Spatula
