Story behind the song
Originally recorded in an impromptu session with a keyboardist who played some tasty organ bits on it. When The Trist recorded this, we stayed with the 3 piece group with the violin guest appearances. This version attempts to bring back some of the organ sounds that made the original recording special.
Lyrics
Eileen Words and music by Patrick Thompson (November 1985) I’ve looked around enough to know what I’ve been searching for Someone to share my life with And I didn’t think that it would happen to soon That all changed when I found you Eileen, open up your heart and follow me Eileen, smile for me Lately I’ve been thinking of your beautiful face Your soft and warm embrace You have a lot to do with the happiness I feel To me, it seems so real Eileen, open up your heart and follow me Eileen, smile for me Hand in hand with you is the way I like to be Won’t you take me by your side I’d like to spend my life with you if you don’t mind Well, I’ve got nothing to hide Eileen, open up your heart and follow me Eileen, smile -- Eileen, open up your heart and follow me Eileen, smile for me
