Story behind the song
This rough demo was recorded using a TASCAM PORTA ONE ministudio. I used Gramofile (on SuSE linux 8.1) to convert the audio cassette to wav file. I encoded the mp3 using BladeEnc.
Lyrics
I was born in Virginia. That's where my parents raised me well. I fished the streams and I climbed the hills in the state I love so well. I have travelled across the Atlantic Ocean and I've travelled to America's west coast. But the greatest place that I have seen is the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Someday I'll return to Virginia. Someday I will never leave. Bury me at the old home place, where my body will decay. Bury me at the old home place, where my body will decay. That's where my body will decay.
